Five Primary Objectives to help accelerate adaption to the new realities of 2026.

1. Resident-First village office including Open and Honest council meetings, moving Q&A to near the start of the council meeting and returning council meetings to 7 pm to facilitate community engagement. The creation of a municipal culture where all Residents are treated fairly and equally.

2. Community Risk Reduction. Decrease extreme residential structural densification to reduce threat of Community Fire Spread that could quickly overwhelm fire fighting capacity. We need to go back to the drawing board on how we want to develop the village.

3. Community Risk Reduction. In the Age of Fire we need to ADAPT to the climates of the future by Strengthening Community Wildfire Defences to protect property and lives including the Ruby Creek Evacuation Road.

4. Community Risk Reduction. Upgrade inadequate and insufficient Stormwater Drainage System to protect against village-wide flooding from the real flood threat to the village (not the flood of 1894)… the Miami River Watershed.

5. Protect and Strengthen the Nature of the village including potentially decommissioning of WWTP in favour of a regional solution and consider the creation of other options to ecologically revitalize the lagoon.
